Position Summary:
Assists patients and families in understanding and managing behavioral and mental health issues and concerns. Integrates an understanding of human psychosocial development with the social, economic and emotional needs that arise from hospitalization, chronic illness and ongoing medical and behavioral health management. Provides resources and choices to families to effectively link them to the needed level of emotional, medical and spiritual care. Provides support to both the traditional psychiatric patient population as well as the integrated medical-behavioral patient population. Participates as an active member of the multi-disciplinary team.
Qualifications:
Education:
MSW or greater.
Certified or licensed in field
Experience:
Three or more years working in crisis work and/or hospital environment. Thorough knowledge of Illinois state law regarding mental health and substance abuse patients.
