Position Summary:
This position carries overall responsibility for the cleanliness and appearance of all facilities of the hospital. Directs and manages support services and motivates, encourages, and supports Carle values. Establishes policies, procedures, objectives, and work standards for environmental services (EVS). Actively participates in the facility team's efforts to improve the overall condition, appearance, and service of the facility.

High School Diploma/Equivalent General Studies or 5 - 10 years experience preferred.

Five (5) years Healthcare/Medical - Environmental Health Sciences Hospitality, five (5) years General - General Manager

Budgeting, accounting, knowledge of regulatory agencies both state and national, team building skills

Essential Functions:

  • Assumes responsibility for personnel related duties that include interviewing, disciplinary actions, payroll reporting, scheduling paid leave, and enforcing required rules and regulations. Monitors employee performance and ensures timely communications for the purpose of goal setting, performance evaluations, wages increases and continued personnel actions.
  • Develops budget recommendations and monitors budget activities
  • Ensures smooth operation of all departmental functions according to approved policies and in accordance with all state and federal law, standards of professional practice, and applicable accreditation standards.
  • Maintains product and service quality standards by conducting an ongoing evaluation and investigating complaints. Initiates corrective action.
  • Manages operations of department and ensures standards of quality and service are provided in accordance with organizational goals and priorities.
  • Plans, controls, and directs all cleaning, sanitizing, and waste removal functions.
  • Responsible for customer relations activities including evaluations, product needs, and satisfaction interviews.
