Position Summary:
The RN Supervisor is responsible for supporting the Nurse Manager in the administrative duties of the clinical unit and providing leadership through collaboration with the healthcare team and maintaining standards of professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. This position will participate in organizational and unit based quality improvement activities, and provide input on standards of care to maintain quality patient outcomes. Will also maintain the clinical competencies needed to provide direct patient care when the need arises.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors Nursing or Must obtain BSN by 1/1/2020 for current incumbents
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
Registered Nurse (RN) Illinois and Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and National Nursing Certification within three (3) years of start date in position. Employees hired into this role prior to 1/1/2020 will be grandfathered and have four (4) years from start date in position. Attend and satisfactorily complete all required continuing education regarding the care of acute stroke patients
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Two (2) years Nursing
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Demonstrates clinical leadership, good communication skills, and the ability to multi-task. Must demonstrate the ability to accept and institute change. Must be able to work independently as well as function as part of the healthcare team. Demonstrates competency with adult/neonate/procedure patient population.
